In November 1982, Janet Richmond disappeared. Her husband Pete was the prime suspect but with no evidence and no body, the case went cold and remained unsolved. Years later she was declared dead in absentia.

In the summer of 2002, sick and with only a few months to live, Pete Richmond hires Jase to find out what happened to Janet. He insists he was not involved and wants to clear his name once and for all before he dies.

Jase is determined to find out what happened to Janet and begins to unearth long-buried secrets, but not everyone is happy to have the past dug up, especially if someone has been getting away with murder for twenty years...
