Hamed Sadeghi is Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Sharif University of Technology, critically acclaimed as the Iran's most prestigious and leading institution for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. Hamed holds an impressive array of academic degrees, all with notable educational and research distinctions recognized by Iran's National Elites Foundation. He is pioneering innovative programs, serving as the first graduate and coordinator of the SUT-HKUST Dual-Degree PhD program in all disciplines. Hamed is the director of the Geotechnical Group and the founding director of the Green Geotechnology Laboratory, a groundbreaking new academic infrastructure in civil and environmental engineering that is paving the way for advanced research on sustainable development and urban greenery. Over the past three decades, Hamed has been the recipient of numerous scientific and cultural awards, including the KANS honorary diploma, the "Dr. Kazemi-Ashtiani" prize recognizing him as a nationally distinguished young research assistant professor, as well as being named Sharif University's distinguished student. He has also been awarded the best PhD thesis in civil and environmental engineering. Hamed's research record includes over 80 published articles. He has served as the Chair of the Iran InterPore Chapter and the Chair of TC-106 Unsaturated Soils, of the Iranian Geotechnical Society. He takes great pride in having recruited and supervised over 50 elite students as research or teaching assistants. His research team is at the forefront of advancing knowledge about the complex interplay between soil, solutes, the atmosphere, plants, and bacteria, conducting rigorous characterization, theoretical modeling, and numerical simulation in a multidisciplinary context.
