On Christmas Eve, Maia, whose world seems orderly and peaceful, spots a man who strikingly resembles her first husband Paul, who died in a plane crash nineteen years earlier along with their little daughter. The impression is so strong that Maia cannot resist the temptation to search for the Christmas specter. All her doubts from years ago return, she never saw the bodies of her missing loved ones, she had doubts before and came up with all sorts of conspiracy theories about their disappearance. Now it is all coming back, stealing away her peace of mind and disrupting the happiness she found with her new husband and two children.

Maia embarks on an investigation, but when she finally uncovers the truth, the shock she experiences is beyond compare to the one she experienced on Christmas Eve. Now she will have to reconstruct and understand anew her whole life and the concepts of reality, logic, human choices and mistakes. And all this due to one mistake made by a careless angel.
