This is an anthology of short stories inspired by the last line of the Hail, Mary prayer. In it, we examine various fictitious events at the moment of dying. Some of these stories are exemplary, in that they may inspire contemplation of real events, for all of us will pass on sooner or later. The subject matter includes deathbed conversions, regrets for the life just spent, and joy and anticipation at the very end, to cite three themes. The overarching religious aspect is that of Christianity, and specifically Catholicism. Nevertheless, this is not and was not intended to be a theological or philosophical collection; rather, its purpose is meditative, and perhaps the reader will find something about life and the end of it worth considering.
