Bobbie Bassington, under her aunt's tutelage, is becoming a capable and resourceful investigative journalist. But her aunt is not going to be around forever, and as she faces into perhaps the most complex and far reaching case she has ever covered, Bobbie discovers some history which affects them both.
This fast moving story, although part of the Bobbie Bassington series can be read in isolation, without reference to the rest of the books. However, those familiar with the sequence of events leading up to this adventure, will find all the disparate strings of the lives of the protagonists we have met before coming together here.
Written, as ever, with Bob Able's gentle humour much in evidence, but encompassing a serious and plausible plot, the storyline will make you think, whilst still being charming and amusing.
Bobbie has to deal with considerable stress in her personal life alongside a series of surprises in where this investigation takes her, as gradually the seemingly unconnected strands knit together.
It all happens at pace and engages the reader from page one. Expect 'Auntie Caroline's Last Case' to be as "unputdownable" as all Bob's books.
