Upon moving to London for university, Emelia makes a list of things she promises to avoid. However, just weeks into her new life, she finds herself checking off the top item on that list-dating a guy-or so it seems. Oliver Brown, the son of one of England's leading singers, has her pretending to date him in an effort to make his ex jealous. Each paparazzi shot of them takes her one step closer to a confrontation with her father, who is unaware of the unfolding chaos.

Things take a turn for the worse when her father surprises her with a ticket home after learning the full story.
