About the Author

Waite, Jim: -

Jim Waite began writing at a very young age. At eight years old, he had written several stories, reports, and poems. The world fascinated young Jimmy, and with that fascination and love for writing also came a love for reading. Dr. Seuss was a favorite while growing up, and TV shows like Mister Rogers' Neighborhood added to that fascination. As a result of his love for reading Dr. Seuss and watching shows like Mister Rogers, the Better than Best books were born. Better than Best: Be Strong is Jim's fifth book in the Character Counts series. As you read, you'll notice the similarities between Dr. Seuss's rhyming and a Mister Rogers lesson.

Jim Waite, widowed in May 2022, dedicates this book to his dear wife, Lisa. They are the parents of ten children and six grandchildren. Jim resides in Bakersfield, California, and has worked as a financial planner for over twenty-eight years.

His other books in the series include Better than Best; Better than Best: Be a Friend; Better than Best: Be Respectful, and Better than Best: Be Honest. In 2015, Jim also published a biography of his father, who passed away in 2018: Life of Purpose, Man of Service.
