We currently face a wide range of challenges; among them, the most intense and important is the understanding and modeling of the new technological revolution in progress, which implies nothing less than the transformation of all humanity. We are at the beginning of a revolution that will profoundly alter the way we live, work and relate. In its scale, scope and complexity, the fourth industrial revolution is something we consider unlike anything that has ever been experienced by humanity. We still need to understand more comprehensively the speed and breadth of this new revolution. Imagine the limitless possibilities of billions of people connected by mobile devices, giving rise to unprecedented processing power, storage resources and access to knowledge. Or imagine the astonishing profusion of technological innovations that span numerous areas: artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, the internet of things (IoT), autonomous vehicles, 3D printing, nanotechnology, biotechnology, materials science, energy storage and quantum computing, to name just a few. Many of these innovations are just beginning, but they are already reaching an inflection point in their development, as they build on and amplify each other, merging technologies from the physical, digital and biological worlds, as will be seen throughout this study. Globalization Age: a historical process of "deconstruction" of Modernity. A long-term process that has taken place over the course of the 20th and 21st centuries. The two decades of the current century mark the acceleration of this process. Antinomies and aporias of the Globalization Age: in the context of Global Geopolitics (USA, China and EURASIA); the emergence of a new Disruptive Technological Paradigm (AI) and the consolidation of the Anthropocene era (with the prevalence of climate extremes). These are the central themes developed throughout the book. Themes that affect humanity as a whole.
