About the Author

Luis Requena, MD, is Professor of Dermatology and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at Fundación Jiménez Díaz, Universidad Autónoma, Madrid, Spain. He is also Visiting Professor of Dermatology at Wake Forest University and UCSF in the United States and at Graz University in Austria. Dr. Requena was a member of the Executive Committee of the International Society of Dermatopathology and is a member of the Advisory Board and Examination Committee of the International Committee for Dermatopathology - European Union Medical Specialists. He is on the editorial boards of several leading journals and has won 56 national and international research prizes in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. He has trained more than 100 residents and fellows. He is the author of 587 papers in journals included in MedLine (PubMed) as well as 203 chapters in textbooks. In addition he is the main author of 15 monographs.

Lorenzo Cerroni, MD, is an associate professor of dermatology and co-director of the dermatopathology unit at the Medical University of Graz, Austria. He is past-president of the International Society of Dermatopathology and of the Austrian Society of Dermatopathology, and secretary of the European Board Certification in Dermatopathology. Dr. Cerroni has authored 14 books and over 400 scientific manuscripts. He is the recipient of the 2008 Ferdinand von Hebra Prize and the 2024 Plenck medal from the Austrian Society of Dermatology, the 2015 Founder's Award from the American Society of Dermatopathology, and the 2024 Founder's Award from the International Society of Dermatopathology. He has delivered more than 900 invited lectures. Dr Cerroni has organized several congresses including 2 Symposia of the International Society of Dermatopathology (Graz 2000 and 2008), one Tutorial of Dermatopathology (Venice 2014), and 18 editions of the Summer Academy of Dermatopathology (Graz 2003-2026).
