Daddy Over-Did It

Josh Kolb

Daddy loves using his engineering skills to "help" his family, but his over-the-top contraptions tend to cause more trouble than triumph. From a Derby Car that takes a wild detour into the local lake to a turbocharged vacuum cleaner that leaves everyone ducking for cover, Daddy's "help" is anything but ordinary. When the family finally decides they've had enough, Daddy's tinkering days seem numbered. But when a big storm hits and the power goes out, it's Daddy's wild creativity and engineering brilliance that save the day.Packed with humor, heart, and plenty of quirky inventions, Daddy Over-Did It celebrates the lovable chaos of life with an engineer dad who always means well-even if he sometimes overdoes it!If you know an engineer-even better (or worse), have one in your family-you'll laugh out loud at the hilarious chaos this inventive dad brings to his home!

About the Author

Kolb, Josh: - Growing up, Josh Kolb was the kid who took apart every gadget in the house-just to see how it worked (though putting them back together wasn't always his strong suit). Now an engineer by day and a dad by all the other hours, he brings that same curious spirit to storytelling.Drawing inspiration from a life full of experiences, Josh wears many hats. First and foremost, he is a devoted husband to his wife, who encouraged him to start writing. He's also a proud father to his fantastically awesome children and an accomplished engineer who has developed software for medical equipment and designed RADAR systems for Navy ships. When he's not working, he's a builder and creator, always dreaming up new projects around the house-though his family often has to reel him in before his ideas spiral out of control.Josh enjoys hiking, hunting, and marveling at the beauty of the world God created. While writing may not be his first role, every aspect of his life fuels his creativity and inspires the fun, exciting, and slightly quirky stories he loves to create for his most important audience-his children.
Kolb, Melissa: - Melissa Kolb holds a secondary education teaching degree in several states, but her greatest joy has been the privilege of homeschooling her three children. Also a former professional photographer, Melissa now channels her creative talents into designing layouts and illustrations as she, her husband, and her children collaborate to write, design, and illustrate their own stories."I have a deep passion for encouraging and inspiring children of all ages to embark on the journey of writing, illustrating, and self-publishing their own books. There's no better author of children's books than the children who read them."Melissa adores snow, cozy moments, and reading, though snow rarely graces her hobby farm in eastern Tennessee. Between lessons and caring for the animals, Melissa and her family delight in brainstorming new book ideas and illustrations, often with mugs of hot cocoa in hand-no matter the season.
George, Charlie: - Charlie is an author-illustrator from the UK with a passion for crafting enchanting children's picture books that blend heartfelt stories with captivating illustrations. With a background in both writing and art, Charlie brings characters to life through engaging rhymes and vibrant images, aiming to create magical experiences for young readers and parents alike. Known for a unique style that combines hand-drawn pencil sketches with rich digital colour, Charlie's work is full of warmth, wonder, and imagination. The Flight Before Christmas, his debut picture book, introduces readers to a world of festive adventure, friendship, and unexpected magic.
