Domain of Being

Westley Scott Hermanson

Domain of Being presents an original metaphysical ontology wherein the structure of reality is reimagined in accordance with representation. The centralized thesis of Domain of Being is that realness and meaning emerge from the contextualization of abstract potentiality. Within the framework presented, things are treated as relational interpretations within contextual systems.

Patterns are structureless abstractions that found the model within Domain of Being. Outside of time and without reference, patterns are unknowable, inert, and eternal. The coalescence of patterns provides contextuality, defines meaning, and bestows realness.

There are many existence modalities described in the framework, and each existence modality represents a unique manner in which contextual realness actualizes. Existence modalities discussed include tangibility in the physical universe, logical structure within algorithms, subjectivity demonstrated through consciousness, and narrative embodiment that composes fictional environments. While each existence modality actualizes through a distinct capacity, the instantiation of meaning within all is shown to follow a shared representational process.

At the most foundational level, everything in existence belongs to either the subjective or objective domain of being. Objectivity is defined as that which occurs outside of first-hand awareness, while subjectivity consists in first-hand experience itself. Though their demonstrations diverge, both domains are unified by a single representational structure through which all meaning, identity, and realness arise. The deeper truth revealed within Domain of Being is not what appears as representation, but what facilitates appearance in the first place.
