Brenda McAninch, after teaching elementary school, was asked to use her creative talents to open an afterschool program as the Director of Children's Ministry at her church.
Later she tutored reading and writing at a local community college where she was inspired to pen her first book, As the Ice Thaws.
While tutoring privately, the idea of a young person unlocking the ups and downs of an unsteady home life was prominent in her mind. Some of the mysteries of her character's life unfold as she searches for the answer to the one question she has.
