Hello World, I'm Early to the Party

Jaeah Chung

"Hello World, I'm Early to the Party" tells the story of a family coping with the birth of their premature baby. Struggling to come to terms with the possible ramifications of a preemie baby, the mom relies on her thriving child to ease her mind. The book encourages the reader to use their imagination and find comfort in seeing the baby's perspective of this new world. While this is a children's book, it also serves to help families who find themselves in the common situation of being hospitalized while pregnant or welcoming a child pre-term. The book takes you on the family's journey through the NICU and clears up many of the misconceptions parents may have about this process. This book is written by Lindsay Rechler, author of "Good Morning Zoom" and mother of a child born at 30 weeks. Lindsay was hospitalized during her pregnancy and much if this story mirrors her experience giving birth to her son Jack. Her co-author, Dr. Jaeah Chung, is a Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrician at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Chung is dedicated to helping children facing developmental challenges and included in the book is a guide for parents.
