In the heart of Florida's wildlands, three black bear cubs-Brindle, Burdock, and Buttercup-are learning to navigate life under their Mama's careful watch. But their world shatters during a controversial black bear hunt, when rule-breaking hunters and unleashed hounds chase their mother into the path of a speeding truck.

Now orphaned and alone, the triplet cubs must survive on their own, dodging humans, scavenging for food, and staying far from the trash cans and dogs that spell danger. Along the way, they encounter kindness from a wildlife rehabber's granddaughter named Lila, who begins documenting their journey-and fighting to protect what's left of their family.

But time is running out. With another bear hunt vote looming and the cubs growing bolder near neighborhoods, Lila must rally her community, expose the hunters who broke the rules, and remind everyone that humans and wildlife can coexist-if we choose to.
