Black, Geoffrey: - Geoffrey Black is an Amazon Bestselling children's author. He and his wife, Ramya Black, are co-writers of the 'If I Had a Friend' series and the 'Why Did God Make' series. Ramya is a Disney trained animation artist and illustrated both book series.Besides writing children's books, Geoffrey has worked in Hollywood in creative development, production and post production on more than thirty produced feature films including "Babe," "The Flintstones," "Balto," "Jurassic Park," "Jurassic Park: The Lost World," "Schindler's List" (Best Picture), "In The Name Of The Father" (Best Picture nominee), "The Little Rascals," "The Fast and the Furious," "Man of Steel" and "Unbroken."Geoffrey was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and holds a B.A. in Communication from USC.
Black, Ramya: - Ramya Black is the Amazon Bestselling children's co-author and illustrator of the "If I Had a Friend" series and the "Why Did God Make" series! An avid reader and an award-winning painter in Sri Lanka where she grew up, Ramya's lifelong dream has been to illustrate children's books. Before moving to the United States, Ramya studied library science and worked as a graphic artist for the advertising firm J. Walter Thompson. After moving to Los Angeles, Ramya studied art and was accepted into the Walt Disney Feature Animation Training Program. Upon graduation, Ramya worked as an animation artist on numerous Disney projects including feature films, TV animation and theme park attractions for Disney's California Adventure and Disneyland Tokyo. In addition, Ramya worked at Sony and DreamWorks on feature and TV animation projects. Ramya's film credits include "The Prince of Egypt," "Hercules" (Disney), "El Dorado," "Spirit," "Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five" and "The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol." Ramya is married to her sweetheart Geoffrey Black who is also the co-writer of both children's book series.
