In the Shadows of Suffering

Katelynn Osterhoff

What is life like after being completely broken? Living through trauma can be devastating, but remember, there is beauty in tragedy. This collection of poetry was compiled with the intent of helping readers like you. To display the realities of anxiety, depression, self-harm, PTSD. To shed light on suffering in the shadows. No one deserves to lose their sense of self, their voice, their life. Courage, however, is never lost, even in the depths of our tortured souls. There is always a time to break free. This is my time. My journey. My story. My truth. This is my poetic aftermath.

About the Author

Osterhoff, Katelynn: - Katelynn Osterhoff, hailing from Mountain Home, Idaho, receives support from her closest circle, including her devoted husband and five beautiful children. While her main occupation lies within being a stay at home mom, her passion for writing has always been present. Katelynn's journey as a writer began during her grade-school years, where she consistently surpassed her peers. Later on, she developed a fondness for poetry in middle school. Using her own experiences as a muse, she has allowed her unspoken thoughts to find release on paper. She aims to illuminate the complexities of trauma and the journey of healing, aspiring to foster connection and empower others to find their own voices. She is guided by the notion that healing is about progress, rather than perfection.
