About the Author

Cox, Marci Greenberg: - Marci Greenberg Cox was born and raised in Solon, OH and currently resides in Buffalo, MO. Though she was a full-time Realtor, she decided to write a children's book-Mommy Has a Boo-Boo: Explaining Breast Cancer to Children-to aid in her healing after receiving a Stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis in 2018. She has also written a series of journals and even collaborated with her daughter to publish a variety of coloring books. In creating The Fight Back series, Marci set out to write a book for children so they see themselves in the story and know they are not alone as true superheroes in their fight against cancer.
Marikakas, Kerri: - Born and raised in NJ, Kerri left the Garden State to obtain a BS in Communication from Boston University. After subsequent stints in the advertising and market research industries, she stepped away from work as a full-time parent to her son before deciding to embrace her inner grammar geek and launch a career as a freelance copy editor and proofreader. Kerri now enjoys working on all types of copy and collaborating with clients from all over the world in what's become her most fulfilling professional role to date. In her spare time, Kerri enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, and watching pro football (go Birds!).
Juna, Ri: - Ri Juna is a self-represented illustrator from Indonesia who loves to work on stories full of warmth, strong characters, and a sense of adventure. She is self-taught in digital drawing and has learned by watching tutorials and viewing the work of famous artists to note how they use color and light. By observing everything around her in life for inspiration, Ri combines different media to create her illustrations. Although she mostly works digitally, she is not afraid to seek traditional help from ink, pencils, and watercolor as well.
