Bear shifter, Kort Behrens, had never had good luck with romance. Given his wealth, most of the women he met were only interested in the money and prestige he could offer. But he wanted more. At this stage in life, he had given up hope of ever meeting that one special woman. Due to some mix up with a couple orders from his company, he was traveling to Gambler's Folly to sort it out, and then take a little R & R.

Elizabeth Murphy had been widowed for four years and hadn't traveled much since her husband died. She wasn't interested in dating yet, and wasn't sure she ever would be. But as a surprise for her birthday, her kids sent her tickets to visit them in Northern California, a far cry from her small Appalachian home. Once there, they had another surprise--a round trip vacation package to Gambler's Folly! What she would do there was anyone's guess, but her daughter insisted she would have a great and relaxing time.
