Charlotte's perfect girlfriend lives on the top shelf of her closet. Ironic, but true!
When Charlotte's best friend dumps her for boys and beer parties, she locks her bedroom door and starts to draw. She's tried to fit in, but it isn't a boy she wants. If only Autumn were real, instead of just a pile of drawings that she's been hiding from her mother.
Charlotte knows Autumn isn't real. She does. It's just that she's fallen in love with the idea of having a secret girlfriend. Someone special to talk to that understands her. But when Autumn starts talking back, things get...weird?
Then one morning a beautiful redhead sits down next to Charlotte in English class, and hiding in the closet gets a whole lot more complicated.
