This book, "Reforming Nigerian Christian Organizations for Governance, Sustainability, and Social Impact" proposes a comprehensive transformation in how Nigerian Faith Organizations (FBOs) are governed and the investments they prioritize. Nigerian Christian Organizations (NCOs), in particular, wield enormous influence-owning universities, hospitals, media empires, and vast real estate-however, it is commonly perceived that their social contributions fall short of what is expected, considering the enormous resources at their disposal. Accordingly, we propose a bold shift: from charismatic control to institutional accountability, from spiritual capitalism to economic empowerment, and from isolation to strategic partnership. At the heart of this reform vision lays an integrated framework built on Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), and Socially Responsible Investment (SRI). Using critical analysis, case studies, and actionable recommendations, the book suggests how FBO leaders, policymakers, and congregants can collaborate to reclaim the Church's prophetic role in promoting justice, equity, and sustainable development. The book is a call to turn faith into action, a timely guide for reshaping one of the most powerful sectors in Nigerian society into a genuine force for good.
