Alison Caddell

When a woman overwhelmed by the pain of oppression decides to silence her voice, how will it impact her life and her bloodline? This is the question confronted by a collection of intertwined stories, sixteen tales that span across multiple generations in the mythical and mystical town of Creek City, Alabama. Her name is Uli, but it is a name she keeps to herself as she releases the power generated by the name she gives her daughter Rinda. While Uli descends into silence as a response to her oppression, Rinda changes directions by using her voice to manipulate and capitulate to the man she is forced to call "Master" and barred from acknowledging as the father of her enslaved children. But her sons must make a decision: will they maintain the brokenness of their grandmother and uphold the capitulations of their mother? Or will they resist the system they were born into, despite the risks it brings to their life and limbs? Each son makes his own decision, and these decisions impact multitudes of descendants and generations within Creek City, Alabama, culminating in various battles and confrontations on the haunted property formerly known as the Magruder Plantation.
