New York City is home to Wrenly Paxton, a young photographer with an ambition to do great things. She lives in a crappy apartment she can barely afford, shooting fluff pieces for a mid-size magazine in the city. When she runs into Cole Thatcher, a detective with NYPD, he gives her an offer she would die for.
Unfortunately, New York City is also the home of a violent killer that seems to truly hate women. When Wren has some unsavory words to say about the Killer of King County, he directs all of his focus on her for reasons neither Wren nor Cole can figure out.
When tensions get high, the feelings between Cole and Wren get complicated. It's a race against the clock to see who finds who first- will Cole stop the killer before he catches Wren, or will the shadow with a dangerous vendetta against a small-time photographer hunt her down?
