Saving Annie

Mathew Tekulsky

Paul is a freshman at Eastman University in upstate New York in the autumn of 1971, where he first meets his roommate Jack McHugh and later Jack's sister Annie, with whom he falls in love. Annie is a high-school basketball player, but when Jack's Firebird crashes into a ditch in a snowstorm, Annie suffers severe injuries and has to stay at the Eastman University hospital for a long period of time. Annie's parents cannot afford to pay for her operations, so Paul and Jack, along with their classmates Bobby and Buddy, decide to make a trip to Jamaica to buy some marijuana and smuggle it into the United States in order to pay for Annie's hospital bills. Follow Paul, Jack, Bobby, and Buddy on their journey of discovery in Saving Annie. But are they really saving Annie, or is Annie saving them?
