Scourge of the Summer Court
Vanessa, Princess of the Cerulean Court, has decided on the eve of her wedding to the brutish Adrien, Warlord of the Northern Seas, to abandon the only world she's ever known in the underwater court of Merfolk for the overland courts of the Fae. Reluctant to leave her own arranged courtship to the charming Marcus, Warlord of the Southern Seas, Vanessa's younger sister, Syrena, has decided to aid her in the navigation of the political complexity of the Fae courts of their realm of Avaria. Desperate for shelter, the royal mermaid sisters seek the help of the Summer Court, buried deep in the sand dunes of the south. However, not all is well in the Fae court infamous for being the safe haven for refugees. King Haldun of the Summer Court is battling half-wild vagrants from the fallen Spring Court, as well as the sabotage of his ex, the False Queen Nya. Unwittingly, the royal mermaid sisters get themselves caught in the middle of one problem after another and must face the decision to return to the purgatory underwater that they fled from, or take their chances with the Fae who have hunted them for generations. Will Vanessa and Syrena survive the trials they are put through, or succumb to the infighting of the Fae courts?
