She fell to the floor. Dead. Princess Phaedra is banished after she watches her mother annihilate her best friend. Forced to leave everything behind, Phaedra pursues the only goal of interest to her: revenge.
When Phaedra learns Queen Mara plans to conquer the land and Sphere of the Fire Fairies, she departs to kill her in combat. However, she is forced to flee with Fira, the Fairy Princess of Fire, by order of the Fire King before the Sphere falls. In search of other ways to stop her conqueror mother, Phaedra sets out on a cross-continental journey and gathers the elemental Fairy Princesses to fight with her. An egg from the Campaign of the Dragons, the forgotten race of water fairies, and glass fruit trail our flock towards their final objective.
When Queen Mara takes one step too far and assassinates the Matriarch of the water fairies, the Domain of Life, backed by Phaedra and companions, declares the greatest war of their time.
As she travels, Phaedra must come to terms with who she wishes to be and what her future looks like in exile. As Phaedra wrestles with the assumption that Keres, her sister, wants to take the crown and continue the bloody tirade of their mother, Phaedra has to decide if she even wants to take up the mantle of Queen of Death.
