Thanatographies

Yanara Friedland

Thanatographies is a multi-genre prose collection that blends fiction and speculative biography. Four sections--"Room," "Night," "Medusas," and "Burials"--sketch the afterlife of intimacies and histories as wakeful presences permeating language. Each section paints a portrait of women not during the years of war, ruin, flight, silence, murder, but in its aftermath. She asks who witnesses the arduousness of disappearance and the creative acts that accompany dying?
