About the Author

Thomas E. Cronin is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Colorado College. He is President Emeritus of Whitman College (1993-2005) and a past Interim President at Colorado College (1991). His publications include Imagining a Great Republic: Political Novels and the Idea of America (2018); Leadership Matters: Unleashing the Power of Paradox (2012); Colorado Politics and Policy: Governing a Purple State, co-authored with Robert D. Loevy (2012); Fireside Chats of a Retired Collee President (2025) and The Paradoxes of the American Presidency, 5th edition, co-authored with Michael A. Genovese (2013).

Michael A. Genovese is Professor of Political Science and International Relations and president of Global Policy Institute at Loyola Marymount University. His publications include The Presidency and Domestic Leadership, 3rd Ed (2024), with William W. Lammers and Todd Belt, The Modern Presidency: Six Debates that Define the Modern Presidency (2022), and more.
