Verse I - The Star Upon the Water
Before the frost, before the bone,
When gods still spoke through wind and stone,
A child was born in Summer's keep,
Whose cry could stir the stars from sleep.
His name - Eldar ben Zuel - bright flame of mortal kind,
A seer said, "He'll bind the light no
shadow yet confined."
Beneath the gaze of Mystra's hand,
He learned the Weave, the word, command,
And every spell his soul did weave,
Was wrought with mercy, meant to cleave
The night from dawn - to guard the frail,
Till fate betrayed what faith made pale.
