On July 16, 2021, Francis issued the motu proprio Traditionis Custodes on the use of the Roman liturgy prior to the 1970 liturgical reform, by which he practically suppressed the motu proprio Summorum Pontificum that Benedict XVI had promulgated on July 7, 2007. In the accompanying letter, Pope Bergoglio revealed that in 2020 he instructed the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to send a questionnaire to all bishops regarding the application of Pope Ratzinger's provisions and stated that "the responses received revealed a situation that pains and worries me, confirming the need for me to intervene." Until now, the details of the consultation had never been revealed. This book finally reveals the truth: the results were completely opposite to what Francis had claimed.
