Chris Allen started writing as an archaeologist composing technical reports for academia and the private sector. Along the way, she discovered creative composition. Her short stories, often with a humorous point of view, have been published in several anthologies, and she has won numerous local and national awards for both writing and editing. Her latest book, Alchemy's Way, a mystery written with Patricia Walkow, was published in 2023. The Music of Creation is her first collaboration with her husband, Paul Knight. They live on a small farm with a menagerie of animals in New Mexico. Paul Knight has a master's degree in botany with a strong intertest in geology, paleontology, and archaeology. His work has appeared in numerous scientific publications. Throughout his career as a field botanist, he has explored much of the southwestern United States. These long trips provided countless hours to think and imagine, resulting in an endless stream of stories. This novel, and others to come, are the fruits of those adventures. He met his wife and coauthor Chris Allen on an archaeological dig, and since then they have lived, loved, and worked together on a small farm in New Mexico.
