When Monica finally lands a Section 8 apartment, it feels like a miracle-a safe place to start over with her son, after escaping an abusive past. But the building has secrets buried deep in its crumbling walls, and peace is the last thing it offers.

The neighbors keep to themselves. The lights flicker even when the power's steady. And at night, her son whispers to the vents-claiming he has new "friends" who live inside them.
