Unity My Brothers
Unity My Brothers is set in a fantasy realm, following the young runner knight, Lune Whitestorm as he faces a land no longer belonging to his kind. A war among the races, foremost among them the humans and giants, has waged for generations, the land of Mira warped by magic into a land of giants. Yet, much is in the dark.
Why did this war begin? Why is life still being lost in the name of mindless hate?
Perhaps it has more to do with those hidden away in the clouds, and tucked away in a crumbling castle, than anyone thinks?
In a land now far too big for the human race, humans no longer the supreme race, will the other races hold more say over what happens to mankind than humanity itself?
In this series, real world problems such as racism, sexism, war, and classism get addressed in a fictional fantasy setting, with an overarching story centered around family, generational war, change, and mental health.
This story approaches traditional fantasy races from a different perspective, with unique design changes, moral compasses, and more humanity to normally monstrous races.
This collection of three books, which smoothly flow into each other; aim to challenge ways of thinking, moral codes, tradition, and much more, while still maintaining a war oriented fantasy story line, filled with expressive, individual characters, many based off of experiences with mental illness such as depression, providing an insightful look into the character's minds, hearts, and past.
Something that always bothered me as a reader was how surrounding casualties in battles and attacks would be casually ignored.
With this book I aimed to give the characters varying levels of empathy, no longer letting soldiers and background characters die with no mental effect on the main cast.
This book is based around my desire to create a fantasy world with a fun, yet serious story, addressing topics that may not be in the exact same light as how they apply in reality, but in a different way with a new perspective you may not have thought of before.
Through friends, found family, loss, bloodshed, battles, war, and revelation, will our main cast finally end this never ending hate fueled war? Will they, perhaps, even find why it started to begin with?
I hope you have a good time in the land of Mira, a war-torn kingdom filled with mystery and hate.
But beware- not everything is as it seems.
In book 2 and 3 our main cast may find more of the answers they're looking for in other kingdoms, or perhaps find more questions than answers.
A kingdom consumed in never-ending war, shrouded in the blood of countless generations of innocents.
An ancient feud.
Looking beyond the past, searching the present for the source of all this chaos as lives are at risk.
