Accidents and Emergencies: A Practical Handbook for Personal Use
This new edition of a highly successful handbook will be indispensable to medical students, nurses, and general practitioners as well as to casualty officers. The common conditions that are encountered in an Accident Department are covered in alphabetical order, and the index adds useful cross-referencing. Simple, clear instructions are given on each condition and alternative apges are left blank for the addition of personal notes and local information so that user can make up a personal handbook for day-to-day use.
It is not intended to replace the large and authoritative volumes on bookshelves, but to live on the desk and in the pocket. Brevity is therefore essential and the text is largely free of references, but a short bibliography and a list of key periodicals is appended.
In this new edition many entries have been brought up to date, errors corrected, and gaps and omissions filled; obscurities have been clarified and illustrations added or improved.
