All the Time You Want

Keith Taylor

In Selected Poems, Keith Taylor, acclaimed poet of the Upper Midwest and the author of eighteen celebrated collections, delivers a stunning medley of his most lasting work: poems that remain vivid in the imagination, that have achieved a life beyond their first appearance on the page.

With the signature charm and insight that have made him a beloved poet for nearly fifty years, Taylor dives into the wilderness of his life, in canoe and on foot. Across the decades, he reflects on what it means to be a painter, a writer, an observer of life's ordinary beauties; on encountering a bear in the Michigan woods; on the evolution of hitchhiking and the lives of saints; on his transfixion with Doreen dancing at his grade school's show-and-tell; and on the deep and abiding love of a long marriage.

A triumphant celebration of growing up and the life that comes after, this is a collection not to be missed by fans of American poetry and all who wander in the wilderness.

Praise for this book

"Publication of Keith Taylor's All the Time You Want
is an important event. Everyone who has been listening for years to this
essential poetic voice has reason to rejoice anew. Taylor's arguments in favor
of the ordinary communal life--earning a living, being part of a family,
engaging in all the things we do to sustain ourselves--introduce us to a deep
and quiet understanding of how life works, reminding us that "We're too busy to
be saints." And in his poems about the natural world, he has created a space
one enters gladly, with joy in one's heart. Reading this book is like opening a
door outward into a realm whose refreshment we find we are badly in need of,
even if we have forgotten how much we really do need it." --Richard

Past Praise for Keith Taylor

"Taylor delights readers with tight flashes of insight...The appeal here is Taylor's ability to cast a line and reel the reader in with just a few sentences, then do it again and again." - Starred review in Publishers Weekly
