Basili, Ann M.: - Ann lives with her little Pomeranian Aura-Luna, in the beautiful Western Australian south-west town of Margaret River. Surrounded by stunning natural bush, forest and ocean, Ann feels extremely lucky to call this place home. You can often find her walking, sitting or meditating at the beach or in the forest, hugging trees as she goes. Her love of nature began as a young girl where she would play in the bush next to her home. Her family garden was also full of flowering and fruit-bearing trees attracting all the wildlife, including her favourite birds-magpies, crows, white cockatoos, pink galahs and black Carnaby cockatoos. Ann loved the trees and animals and brought home injured wildlife and any strays needing love. There wasn't a tree or animal that wasn't deserving of protecting or rescuing and she would even try to defend the trees in her own garden from being chopped down, often without success and with many tears. Ann also loves all things magical, mythical and fantastical. Amongst her favourite collection of books growing up were: The Chronicles of Narnia; The Magic Faraway Tree and of course, even as an adult, all-things Harry Potter. These and many, many more magnificent books helped feed her own young (and older) imagination.In the end, by combining her love of nature, magic and fantasy, Astara and Erefrey were born with the hope of bringing more colour and magic into the world, your world. 'The story itself "dropped in" to me all of sudden. I knew immediately it was to be a children's book and it was a gift given to me to share with the world. I spent six months developing the story, bringing the Goddesses and their magic into the world for everyone to enjoy, ' Ann said. Ann has a BA in Sociology / Anthropology & a BA in Social Work. She works privately as a Quantum Healing Hypnosis practitioner (QHHT(R)) and counsellor. Her hobbies are writing, reading, creating jewellery and spending time in nature with Aura- Luna.
