Bashara grew up in a loving family, with all the privileges granted to him as a future ruler of his country. Nabilah's life was hard. She only knew love briefly from her mother, and had a father that hated her. Bashara saw her for the first time when he was sixteen, and watched from across the oasis while she bathed, quite unaware of his presence.
