Beyond the blue cemetery: A story of survivors. An intense story about the reality of illegal immigration among the agricultural greenhouses of

Rafael M. Martos

Year 1995. An illegal Algerian immigrant dies murdered by a Moroccan among the greenhouses of Almeria, and from there begins a plot in which points the advance of Islamic fundamentalism in Algeria, the life without future of the Moroccan youth, and the only one hope of immigration to Europe, crossing the Mediterranean, which becomes a cemetery, not only of lives, but also of illusions, because nothing is what is expected. The story, with very lyrical moments, but also with others of pure reporting journalistic without concessions, addresses immigration from different situations, such as those of Andalusians who emigrated to be exploited in Catalonia, or those who ended up in Almeria from neighboring provinces. Police and political corruption, prostitution, drugs, racism, northern European mafias, and above all, the struggle for the survival of all. The author, who has directed newspapers in Almeria and Melilla, knows this phenomenon at first hand and the other of the concertinas.
