About the Author
ROBERT BURNS was born on January 25, 1759, in South Ayrshire, Scotland, and died in 1796. GERARD CARRUTHERS is Francis Hutcheson Chair of Scottish Literature at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and the editor of the Everyman's Library Pocket Poets Scottish Poems and Robert Burns.
