Eight year-old Carla Harnsworth is a pretty blue-eyed skivvy working at Montague House. It's obvious she is educated and comes from a good family but her past is a mystery. However, her future is all too clear if she remains at this house of ill repute.

Carla catches the attention of Lord Frey Harland who, together with help from Victor, the cook, intends moving her to somewhere a lot safer.

But not all good intentions go to plan.
