According to Paranormal-Encylopedia.com: The term close encounter was coined by American astronomer and ufologist Josef Allen Hynek (1910 - 1986) in his 1972 book The UFO Experience: A Scientific Inquiry. Hynek proposed three types of close encounter: First Kind: Sighting of one or more UFOs at a distance of 500 feet or less. Second Kind: Sighting of a UFO with associated physical effects (e.g. heat, electrical interference, etc). Third Kind: Sighting of an animated being (presumably an alien but not specifically defined as such.)
Otis Record, born the fall of 1954 in Ozark Missouri is a lifelong dreamer and adventurer. I and my wife of forty two years have had the pleasure of traveling to China, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Mexico as well as many locations in the United States. Over my lifetime, I have seen the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, the Colorado river, the Grand Canyon, New York City, Niagara Falls, the Amazon, Yellowstone and the Great Wall of China just to name a few but my greatest adventure has been in being a father and a grandfather. The only joy I have known more is my relationship with Jesus Christ. Until I retired, I was a welder-fabricator in the stainless steel food processing industry. Ever since an encounter at age five with an object in the clear blue sky over Walden Colorado I have been interested in the unexplained. I love the thought of Alien visitation, Bigfoot, Nessie, Dinosaurs in the Congo ect. ect. There are many mysteries in this old world that will never be known this side of heaven. I am a firm believer that maybe not all things are probable but anything is possible. As a child I loved reading Robert Heinlein books. My favorites are "Time For The Stars", "Starship Troopers" and "The Red Planet". I grew up watching "Lost In Space", "Star Trek", "The Martian Chronicles" "Babylon 5", "Star Wars" and many others, but my favorite then and now remains "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind".
