Much has been written about Western film, but Blake's focus and combination of passion and scholarship make this title truly unique. It should be a required purchase for academic libraries supporting film studies programs and is highly recommended for public libraries as well.--M.C. Duhig "Library Journal "
Manages to add to our knowledge of films that have been analyzed to death. On-set photos are priceless.--Laura Wagner "Classic Images "
