The publication Collected Poems was a landmark in New Zealand literature. James K. Baxter--a social worker among addicts and the homeless--as a Catholic convert finally settled in and wrote about a small Maori settlement called Jerusalem.
This volume includes over 700 poems which have been previously published, and 50 poems remaining in manuscript.
