Praise for this book

This is a realistic and compassionate story... avoiding the cliché of the drunk teenager, opting instead to show what happens when a reasonably responsible but inexperienced driver loses his concentration long enough to cause a horrific accident that almost kills a girl. - New Zealand Herald

A powerful, heart-rending story of error and redemption, anger and forgiveness. - Taranaki Daily News

The stomach knots from page one of Coming Back, a convincing documentary-style story about everyone's teenage car accident nightmare. A gritty read about a boy facing tragedy with true courage. - The Dominion-Post

David Hill wastes no time introducing his two main characters with their alternating narratives, a structure that immediately builds interest, tension and suspense... a gripping, emotionally resonant story. Highly recommended. - Magpies Magazine

Every young adult who feels 10 feet tall and bullet proof when they get behind the wheel of a car should read Coming Back. - Marlborough Express

Despite its subject matter, this is a novel about hope, about budding romantic attachments, about developing one's talents, and above all, about supporting others. Recommended. - Tailspinner Magazine

This book is excellent for teens! I got so caught up in it that I just switched off to everything else. An absorbing story of friendship and family as well as hate and regret. - Grace Haack, Palmerston North Intermediate School

I would recommend Coming Back as a good book for 12 to 18 year-olds. Anyone can read the book and enjoy it. - Courtney Jones, age 14, The Mirror
