Annie's destiny awaits. Smooth sailing or turbulent seas?
After a life-changing journey in book one, Annie's course is apparently set and she is ready to open the next chapter of her destiny with Ramone. However, amidst the politically fraught British turnover of Hong Kong to Beijing, politics and suspense intervene, causing lives to be changed and plans to unravel.
The island of Mallorca off the coast of Spain offers the perfect refuge from the conflict. In the midst of the King's Cup Regatta and the Night of the Pilgrims Pilgrimage, a wedding is planned high in the mountains overlooking the sea. Annie's extraordinary journey has produced the man of her dreams and the happy couple welcomes family and friends from their different worlds to celebrate their union.
Once gathered, one has to ask...is it fate that all these personalities have convened on this island at this moment in time? This combustion of characters has found themselves swept into Annie's journey and perhaps found destiny of their own with far-reaching choices set before them.
The end of one journey is sometimes the start of a new beginning!
"There is an elegance to the writing, an allure of the locales and real-world situations, especially with the island and culture, that raise the book to a higher level in the romance genre." Tammy Ruggles for READER VIEWS

Crossing Paths: The Road to Destiny is a work of fiction in the romance, inspirational writing, and interpersonal drama subgenres. It is suitable for the general adult reading audience and continues the story where Beyond The Sea left off. Author Nina Purtee has crafted a truly immersive experience that drew me into Annie and Ramone's world. The story beautifully weaves together the lives of both new and familiar characters, revealing hidden facts and forming alliances that culminate in a series of crossroads and choices to be made. I was particularly impressed by the author's dedication to character development, which employs wonderful descriptive and dialogue features to deliver realistic people with clearly informed choices and deeply impactful emotional reactions to the situations they're faced with. Overall, Crossing Paths is a captivating continuation of Annie's story that explores themes of love, destiny, and the impact of personal choices in the face of political turmoil. If you enjoy stories that combine romance with political intrigue and personal growth, this book is an absolute must-read.
"Crossing Paths: The Road to Destiny" is the sequel to "Beyond the Sea." While it is not a requirement, I recommend reading the first installment before delving into it. Much like the last book, this engaging story is brimming with mesmerizing scenery, political drama, and plenty of romance. While safe in his arms, Annie is still reeling from Ramone's kidnapping and the aftermath of the trauma he endured, she must do everything possible to keep her growing family safe. As always, Nina Purtee's vivid descriptions of the landscape are decadent. The Casa de Esperanza was no exception. Between its perfectly curated floors and the lush garden surrounding it with a spectacular view of the rolling hills and sea, it ignited all my senses. I haven't had the privilege of vacationing for many years. Still, thanks to the author's precision, I was swept off my feet to an exotic getaway! Moreover, I love an immersive love story, and Annie and Ramone's burgeoning relationship did not disappoint. Brimming with ups and downs, I was easily reeled by their passion. With the relationship still relatively new, the couple faced many obstacles-separation, grief, conflict, and Ramone's uncertainty regarding his career. Being cooped up with extended family sometimes magnified these issues; it was interesting to see how they worked through them. Still, that passionate spark that brought them together in the first book continued to burn bright, and their intense chemistry was palpable, dripping off the pages! It rivaled many romance books but was done tastefully, leaving out the smut. "Crossing Paths: The Road to Destiny" is an engaging book with plenty to offer readers-a sensual love story, awe-inspiring locations, and some political conflict for history buffs. Between the first installment and the sequel, Nina Purtee has proven she is a gifted writer with a penchant for transporting readers to exotic places!
