Daughter Nature

An empowering coming-of-age story that follows a young woman's journey of discovering the powers she didn't know she had, while simultaneously learning that these powers make her a target...

Leslie Heron, better known as Lee, is only a couple years out of college and finds herself unsatisfied at a good-on-paper job, her depression worsening with each passing day. Just when she thinks it can't get any worse, she's attacked by a man who had been stalking her.

This attack sets into motion a series of events leading to her finding out about her powers and the network of people she belongs to called the Terraguardians, who are charged with stopping, or least slowing, the threats of environmental crises facing the planet.

Suddenly, with all new abilities to cultivate, she must embrace her life's new meaning-with the help of some new friends-before those who are out to get her and her people, the very same ones whose efforts to harm the planet have been thwarted by the Terraguardians in the past, snuff out her budding powers before they can bloom.

Can Lee learn what she needs to know and develop her newfound powers in time to save herself from her stalker's next attempt on her life? Or will she crack under the pressure of it all?

"Lee is so relatable, she feels like she could be someone you know right from the beginning. It's like watching your own friend suddenly realize she is even more awesome than you already knew she was."
- Hope Weiss, editor

The twists and turns Lee navigates while discovering what she's capable of make you want to discover them right along with her. This book is perfect for the nature lover searching for some fictional environmental champions to root for. Daughter Nature aims to inspire climate action among us mere mortals.

Daughter Nature, Natalie Bycraft's debut novel, is inspired by her love of nature and dedicated to all those who love it too. Natalie's writing career began after she won an elementary school essay contest at age eleven. She's improved since then while writing for various jobs and outside outlets, but Daughter Nature is her first work of fiction to be published.

A nature lover herself, Natalie has always loved the environment and will point out any animal she sees.
