The Translator: Kathleen March is Professor of Spanish at the University of Maine (Orono). She is founder of the International Galician Studies Association and her research includes Galician as well as Latin American literature. She specializes in women writers and writers with multicultural focus, addressing themes of multilingualism, ethnic difference, and nationalism in Literature. Dr. March has a Ph.D. in Spanish from SUNY at Buffalo. Her books include: Festa da palabra, an anthology of contemporary Galician women poets (Peter Lang); Así vai o conto, anthology of contemporary Galician short stories; Noam Chomsky, As conferencias de Managua (Galician translation); Homenaxe a Ramón Martínez López; The Inhabited Woman (translation of a novel by Nicaraguan Gioconda Belli); and De musa a literata: El Feminismo en la prosa de Rosalía de Castro.
