Christopher Plekenpol is currently serving God and his country as the commanding officer of the Apache Armor Company, 2nd Infantry Division in Al Habbaniyah, Iraq. He was born in the Chicago Suburb of Mt. Prospect, IL. His dad being with IBM, they moved several times living in the Dallas suburb of Trophy Club, TX, Tokyo Japan, and Hillsbourgh, CA, before returning to Texas where Chris graduated from Northwest High School, Justin, TX. His military career began in May of 1995 as a plebe at the United States Military Academy. Chris graduated in May 0f 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and branched Armor. Growing up as Lutheran, Chris did not fully understand the purpose of baptism. On December 5, 1999, while still at Ft. Knox attending the Armor Officer Basic Course, Chris was baptized at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY. From that point on he was constantly filled with a desire to share God's truth in his every day life. In 2003 he decided that when his commitment to the Army was over he would attend the Seminary. In preparation for this he started writing devotionals which he shared with his friends and family, These devotionals were passed on to friends of friends and soon he had a demand for them. In august of 2003 he was assigned to the 2nd ID at Camp Casey Korea. Chris is now lead pastor of Wells Branch Community Church in Austin, TX.
