Praise for this book

In the past, much of the research on first-generation students focused on our deficits...While there is much merit in this foundational work, we have learned over the years that there is also another story to be told--the story of our strengths, of our determination, and of the deep sense of purpose that compels us to keep going. First-Generation College Student Research Studies does just that. I applaud the work of Dr. Terence Hicks and associates for bringing this important project to fruition.
