
Born in Great Falls, Montana, Bill Hellman pursued a career with the US Navy, becoming a SEAL in 1977, and finally retiring in 2000 as a Chief Warrant Officer. Since his retirement, he has worked with Special Forces in thirty-eight nations. Always up for an adventure, Hellman is a pilot, diver, sailor, skier, poet, and storyteller.
Sali Gear, a former US Navy jet pilot, currently works as a commercial airline pilot. Raised in the US Virgin Islands, Gear followed in the footsteps of her father, who earned fame for his heroism in World War II. She has committed a significant amount of time and energy to rescuing dogs from the Virgin Islands.
