This is a recollection of jobs done by one man in forty years and all the humorous and sometimes touching moments in between during his search for the perfect occupation. From breaking rocks to silver service steward, the author takes you on a short journey of parts of his life in Australia.
Being a musician, I can relate to many of his stories, some hilarious and some tragic but a great read with a very Australian bent. Clive Carter (Musician with Bohemian Rogue)
Stephen's writing is easy to read and flows well. I enjoyed his reminiscences about the elderly members of the bowls club which nearly brought me to tears. Fantastic stories. Brian McGrane (policy writer)
I was amazed at how many jobs Stephen has had over the years. Most people never have more than one or two in a lifetime and it makes me think that he took risks which a lot of people wouldn't. Good on him for at least trying to find what he was good at and now it seems he is quite a good writer too. I recommend some of my younger clients to read this as a motivation to 'have a go' when applying for jobs. Isabella Jones (Recruitment Executive)
